It is a testament to the beauty and accessibility of Brooklyn's theater scene that affordable opera can be performed in a former industrial space. No matter your feelings on "immersive" theater, non-traditional venues allow many groups to put on shows at less cost to their audience, and while weird venues don't necessarily make a show automatically "immersive", they often feel more consuming than a typical theater space.
Brooklyn-based LoftOpera, the guys and gals who are making opera cool again, have previously performed Mozart in East Williamsburg warehouses and thrown parties in Navy Yard chocolate factories, and now they're performing Leoncavallo's Pagliacci in a former bus depot out in Bushwick.
